Our client, a multi-billion dollar hedge and private equity firm, is seeking a talented 5th – 8th year attorney to join their team in a uniquely positioned and senior capacity.  Joining a steadily growing  fund with over $20B in AUM, this Legal Counsel will be manage a variety of private fund, regulatory and corporate matters.  Reporting directly into the GC/CCO, this new hire will work closely with the firm’s internal business units and help oversee the legal and compliance department. This is an exceptional role for someone that is mid-career and striving to gain exposure across a host of legal and compliance matters in a stable fund with kind, smart, and collaborative individuals.

Responsibilities

  • Advise on a multitude of fund related matters
  • Assist and advise on regulatory compliance matters; supervise a lean compliance team
  • Collaborate with other counsel team members to think through and solve a variety of complex fund issues
  • Prepare and execute a wide range of investor documents
  • Collaborate with all teams within the firm on legal and compliance matters

Qualifications

  • 5-8 years of relevant legal experience at a top law firm or in-house
  • JD required from a top law school
  • Solid knowledge and experience with various types of agreements
  • Ability and willingness to communicate and work as part of a diverse team
  • Intellectual horsepower and strong, proactive, hands-on work ethic and ability to work in a demanding environment

Compensation Expectations: up to$450-$535K all-in (dependent on experience)
