Our client, one of the world’s largest advisory and asset management firms, is seeking a Director or Vice President of Compliance to cover their Merchant Banking division in the US. This role provides advice and support to senior management and will be responsible for a variety of compliance responsibilities.

- Person will be focused on the Merchant Bank business, which includes private equity, credit and direct lending strategies (20b in AUM)

Responsibilities
- Management of compliance arrangements for the firm’s trading activities in line with required US regulations
- Management of the firm’s information barriers, and related control room activities
- Work with the wider Compliance team to clear relevant transactions, assisting with the implementation of appropriate controls
- Assisting the business with assessment and control of MNPI, review of insider list arrangements, watch and restricted lists
- Maintain trading surveillance functions including daily review, alerts, and breach investigation
- Contribute to the on-going development of the compliance framework, including writing and maintaining policies and procedures in a dynamic environment
- Continued assessment of current and emerging US regulation and its impact on the Group
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in similar role with a proven track record in compliance within Investment Management
- With strong preference for Private Equity or Private Debt experience
- Thorough knowledge of Investment Company Act of 1940
- The ideal candidate is a team player who can work independently and handle regulatory and compliance queries with senior stakeholders
- Ability to build strong relationships within the team and businesses, motivated, proactive, willing to learn, and have integrity, discretion, and confidentiality.
Compensation: $150-$200k base + bonus (up to 400k all in), depending on experience
