$1B Venture Capital Fund

Director of Finance (with potential to become CFO), New York, NY

Director of Finance (New York, NY):  Our client, a growing venture capital fund with over $1B in AUM, is eager to bring on an experienced finance and accounting professional to join their finance team. 

Key Points:

• Firm is actively growing and fundraising (they just finished their second fund raise!) 
• Flat reporting structure offering wide internal exposure and opportunity to continue to increase responsibilities 
• Organization isenvironmentally driven and invests in smart energy 

Responsibilities:

• Review and maintain general ledgers for management entities; review bank reconciliations and track incoming invoices and review payments 
• Determine quarterly portfolio company valuations in accordance with ASC-820; prepare and review quarterly fund financial statements 
• Review portfolio company financial reporting and prepare monitoring reports; formulate and review Net and Gross IRR calculations 
• Coordinate audit and tax work throughout the year; prepare/review capital call and distribution notices to investors 
• Maintain fundwaterfall models; maintain quarterly/monthly excel workbooks 

Qualifications:

• 10 – 15 years of relevant accounting experience from a private equity/venture capital firm OR from a top auditor with a PE/VC focus; bachelors with exceptional and relevant academic performance 
• Excellent program management and business operations skills; cross-functional experience with driving progress, working closely across internal teams 
• Bright, with superiorethical standards; comfortable working within a tight-knit dynamic and collaborative environment
