Fund Accountant/Operations Analyst (New York, NY): Our client, one of the most reputable and well-established hedge funds in NYC is looking to bring diverse professional to help oversee both accounting and operations responsibilities. This is a unique opportunity to gain exposure to a variety of responsibilities while also taking on a supervisory capacity (they plan on hiring a more junior person to work for this person)

This position will have the opportunity to gain exposure to both performance and operations
Responsibilities:

Point person for all analysis and data used by Marketing (performance, internal rates of return, attribution, return on invested capital and portfolio metrics)

Ensure proper internal procedures and checklists are followed

Arrange monthly expense allocations by fund and coordinate payments to vendors with management company accountant

Provide support for trading and operations functions (daily returns, processing fills, updating Enfusion and data warehouse)

Prepare monthly expense allocations by fund and coordinate payments to vendors with management company accountant

Compile/review 1099 listing and ensure timely mailing to vendors/IRS

Maintain database, templates and reporting calendar for recurring monthly/quarterly reporting to Marketing
-
Develop and document formalized policies and procedures with respect to the publication of the firm’s performance data

Ensure investor queries are responded to in a timely manner

Improve processes to gain efficiencies and reduce risk

Assist with compliance filings such as Form ADV and Form PF
-
Work closely with Head of Operations, Trader, Controller and Director of Performance Analytics to ensure exceptional work quality
Qualifications:
-
3+ years of relevant experience, ideally with an asset manager

Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a dynamic work environment

Strong proficiency with Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, macros) and acute attention to detail; ability to work independently and collaboratively with various teams

Technology focused and a proponent for change/improve current processes; must possess a broad understanding of financial instruments
