VP, Marketing & Communications, New York, NY

VP, Marketing and Communications (New York, NY): Our client, a dynamic asset management firm with over $10B in AUM, is looking to bring on an experienced marketing communications professional to join their growing team.  This new hire will be collaborating with the Head of Marketing Communications focusing on the firm’s Clean Energy platform, providing support for all fundraising efforts from a global standpoint.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all proactive and reactive media relations, generation of media opportunities and interviews for clean energy leaders, assembling and distributing press releases and securing contributed content
  • Lead the management and optimization of the clean energy team’s LinkedIn strategy, maintaining a robust online presence 
  • Work with appropriate team members to manage and update the website content as it relates to clean energy, track and efficiently translate web analytics
  • Serve as the point of contact for external PR agencies, managing resources needed to execute media relations as well as day-to-day leadership activities 
  • Implement and evaluate clean energy strategy specific brand guidelines and design standards while collaborating with the product marketing team and global/local advertising and marketing agencies
  • Implement the clean energy internal communications agenda and strategy (ghostwriting communication for executives, collaboration with investment teams to create whitepapers, and regular company-wide communication) 
  • Manage conference participation, company–wide awards submission and intranet content for the firm
  • Act as point person for intranet content for the clean energy strategies
  • Drive the implementation of new and innovative technical marketing tools, software and content management systems

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience working in a similar capacity within the asset management and/or financial services
  • A background with clean energy or infrastructure strategies is a hard requirement (either in-house at a fund or at an agency)
  • Ideally this individual will have both agency and in-house experience with an emphasis in Corporate or Financial Services PR
  • Bachelors and/or Masters degree in Marketing and Communications is paramount
  • Superior creative and communication skills to interact confidently with senior internal investment teams, management, media, clients and third parties
  • Experience overseeing the creation of branded marketing and communications materials and tools; must have a creative, self-starter and solutions-oriented mindset
  • Willingness to work in a performance-driven environment and comfortable with minimal supervision; occasional travel on a global basis (20% of the time)
  • Experience speaking, reading, or writing any of the following languages is advantageous (please denote it!): French, Italian, German, Korean, or Japanese
