Legal Assistant/Paralegal, New York, NY

Legal Assistant/Paralegal (New York, NY): Our client, a successful private equity firm with over $3B in AUM, is looking to bring on a bright and motivated Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join their team. The new hire will report into the General Counsel and primarily handle paralegal work, while also assisting other team members with administrative tasks.

  • Assist with implementing and tracking numerous legal agreements; assist with the completion of various regulatory filings (SEC and NFA filings)
  • Distribute and track incoming and outgoing correspondence for the General Counsel while tracking/processing invoices; prepare materials for shareholders’ meetings and Boards of Directors meetings
  • Assist with the formation of legal entities and maintenance of domestic and international subsidiaries
  • Draft provisions and
  • Manage calendars while scheduling appointments, arranging conference calls and meetings
  • Manage a copious amount of highly sensitive and confidential documents and files


  • 1+ years of relevant paralegal experience in a legal or asset management firm (private equity or hedge fund experience if preferred); bachelors degree from a reputable university
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with acute attention to detail; must be comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively with a team, covering multiple items at once and seeing it through completion
  • Strong work ethic and demonstrated track record, with a proactive mindset and positive attitude (no task too small); notary public and/or paralegal certificate is a plus
