Junior Operations Analyst, New York, NY

Junior Operations Analyst (New York, NY): Our client, a growing hedge and PE fund, is seeking an eager and bright operations professional to join their dynamic team in New York.  This is an exciting opportunity for a young professional to work directly with senior members of the operations team and gain exposure to all areas of operations and investing.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to a number of operational tasks including cash, positions, and trade reconciliations; calculate and verify nightly P&L across all funds
  • Instruct wires, booking daily trading activity between front and back office systems 
  • Manage cash balances and process cash movements between prime brokerage and administrative accounts; prepare accounts for new counterparty relationships, providing cash and settlement instructions, as well as necessary compliance documents
  •  Monitor voluntary Corporate Actions on all positions in the book; process corporate actions (cash & stock dividends, mergers and acquisitions, splits, tender offers)
  • Collaborate with administrator to guarantee accurate reporting; provide reports on an ad-hoc basis for any and all departments and for clients and investors

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience or internship experience in an operations/administrative role and knowledge of different financial products and terminology; Bachelor’s degree required
  • Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills; superior organizational skills and with a detail-oriented mindset 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; comfortable with learning new systems 
  • Intermediate Excel skills, Bloomberg, SQL, and VBA are preferred; driven to problem solving with a genuine interest in expanding knowledge of the business
