Senior Corporate Finance Associate, Baltimore, MD

Senior Corporate Finance Associate (Baltimore MD): Our client, a global investment firm with over $50B in assets, is looking to bring on a motivated and experienced finance professional to join their Maryland team.  Specifically, this new hire will be covering all aspects of finance including: financial reporting, due diligence, capital structure analysis and financial statement analysis.  Reporting into the CFO/COO, this new hire will have exposure to all finance activity and projects that the CFO/COO is involved with in this dynamic organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Under the direction of the CFO, build complex, dynamic financial models while analyzing scenarios and outcomes, communicating recommendations to senior management; monitor and report on changes and trends within markets while providing responsive strategies
  • Conduct M&A due diligence for proposed business combinations and identify negotiation factors for deal structuring; generate modeling of transaction purchase price and lead pre-and post-close activities
  • Perform analyses and prepare senior management-level graphical presentations of results; provide suggestions to the CFO/COO on business, financial and strategic issues
  • Collaborate with the financial planning and analysis team to budget and forecast, while managing expense control, adding value and driving efficiency; support and manage the monthly financial forecast process (producing financial reports, tracking key performance indicators, understanding and communicating those outcomes)
  • Collect, analyze and present a wide array of information for various audiences including senior leadership, external stakeholders and the board of directors; manage investor relations (report and message investors and lender)

Qualifications:

  • 4-6 years of relevant experience within a similar capacity at an investment management firm; bachelors degree required
  • MBA and CPA both strongly preferred
  • Superior analytical skills with the ability to synthesize information from various sources; advanced Microsoft Excel skills necessary
  • Knowledge of GAAP accounting and understanding or corporate financial statements; acute attention to detail with demonstrated professional integrity
  • Comfortable working effectively under pressure within a fast paced team environment; must exercise discretion while making sound judgements on significant matters
  • Excellent aptitude for math; ability to work both independently and collaboratively, building out relationships throughout the firm
