Middle Office – Private Investment (New York, NY): Our client, a leading investment management firm with over $30B in AUM, has a unique role within their private investments team.  This individual will work within the middle office team which supports the investment team in structuring investments and managing the set up and ongoing operations of the firm’s private equity, private debt, and real estate investments.  The role is ideal for a candidate looking to work on a dynamic and growing portfolio of principal investments with a focus on both the day to day operations and long-term project management.  The individual will work closely with the PMs, analysts, tax, accounting, and legal teams to structure transactions and reflect them properly in the firm’s systems while managing their ongoing operational needs.

  • Work closely with the investment team to determine legal entities and set them up as needed, establish funds flows and booking procedures and monitor expenses; involve tax, accounting, and legal as needed
  • Manage the booking of deals including establishing deal identification and security set-up, reviewing legal documentation and economics; evaluate currency accuracy; and work with cash management team to confirm funding is available and manage funds, internal loans and capital allocations
  • Coordinate with the investment and accounting teams on P&L reconciliations and marking; organize deal restructurings with various internal teams while managing capital injections and distributions
  • Evaluate data and proactively improve ways to monitor, collect and analyze metrics for private investments; assess ways to streamline and standardize structuring, booking and maintenance processes


  • 6+ years of relevant experience in private equity, banking, real estate or the asset management space; bachelors degree with a strong academic performance
  • Experience with deal structuring and the complex acquisitions (deal close and set up of operational infrastructure; understanding of corporate structures and financing is ideal
  • Knowledge of a range of investment products and an aptitude for analyzing financial statements and data; must be highly organized with the ability to work with technology, implementing operational efficiencies and data sourcing 
  • Superior inter-personal and strong collaborative skills with the ability to take ownership and prioritize tasks; self-starter with acute attention to detail and proven track record to see projects through
  • Must be comfortable working with technology; comfortable working autonomously as well as in a collaborative team environment across different functions and regions
  • Willing and able to periodically travel to multiple major international countries
