Paralegal, New York, NY

Paralegal (New York, NY): Our client, an extremely prestigious and well-known private equity firm, is looking to hire an extremely organized individual to join their Legal & Compliance team. This person will be working under the Chief Compliance Officer managing a large volume of highly confidential and sensitive documents and handling the full creation and ownership of an extensive documentation processing technique.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage a large volume of sensitive and confidential documents (both electronic and physical) in the corporate document management system
  • Create and maintain files and binders, and organize said files and emails using internal software
  • Utilize various software programs to accurately store, retrieve, maintain, and organize files
  • Prepare, revise and maintain various corporate and legal documents
  • Assist with correspondence and collect highly confidential/sensitive information
  • Provide support to a diverse group of important external inquiries as well as internal contacts at all levels of the organization
  • Take ownership of projects, leading them through completion
  • Learn and utilize various technology platforms to help implement document management and legal and compliance policies
Qualifications:
  • 2 – 4 years of relevant experience in a similar administrative or paralegal capacity handling a variety of legal documents within the financial services space; bachelors degree
  • This hire must be extremely organized with strong attention to detail and quality driven; comfortable working independently as well as with a collaborative team 
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to accurately document processes and procedures; technologically advanced as new systems and processes arise
  • Familiarity with a similar organization structure, fund formation, policies and practices is preferred; excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with professional peers and investors
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Acrobat; strong work ethic, proactive, team-oriented organization
