Middle Office Associate, Connecticut

Middle Office Associate (Connecticut):  Our client, a $5b + hedge fund based in Connecticut is seeking an Middle Office/Operations Associate to join their lean operations team.  This is an excellent opportunity to join a firm that has been around for over 20 years and gain exposure to all areas of operations including corporate actions, security master, treasury, cash management, P&L and pricing.

·      Firm has been around for over 20 years 

·      Position is what this person makes of it – will have the ability to get involved in every area of operations/middle office – pricing, P&L, security master setup, collateral, treasury management, etc.

·      Standard hours: 9am – 5:45pm most days  

Responsibilities: 

·      Resolving trade breaks, working with executing brokers, central clearing and ISDA counterparties to resolve any settlement issues. 

·      Maintaining the Security Master including all of the data feeds into and out of the OMS. 

·      Reviewing intra-day and EOD pricing, as well as the accuracy of all positions and P&L in the OMS. 

·      Processing corporate actions, proxy votes, and review annual meeting proposals. 

·      Maintenance (valuation and settlements) of all derivative related instruments including Equity Swaps, CDS, IRS, FX (Spots / Forwards) and commodities OTC trades. 

·      Working with administrators and counterparties to ensure all OTC trades have been set-up properly and negotiated terms have been applied appropriately. Includes trade affirmation review 

·      Dissemination of all securities lending activities including securing locates, providing availability and rates to the trading and research teams. 

·      Managing collateral for OTC trades and process wire and/or security transfers. 

·      Assist in treasury management functions including: counterparty risk, managing counterparty balances and broker wallet. 

·      Assist in broker vote, including corporate interaction and resource tracking, as well as preparing best execution and TCA reports. 

·      Support compliance, AML/KYC requests, ISDA Protocols, and regulatory and internal reporting requirements. 

·      Perform ad hoc tasks and reporting as needed. 

Qualifications: 

·      4+ years of operations/middle office experience

·      Strong Excel skills 

·      Willingness to learn and grow within a small group/firm 

·      Hard working with a “team” mentality
