Human Resources Manager, New York, NY

Human Resources Manager/Director (New York, NY): Our client, a hybrid hedge and private equity fund with over $3 billion in AUM, is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Human Resources professional to join their growing team in a newly created capacity. This individual will be the first fully dedicated HR professional and tasked with building out the firm’s HR policies, procedures, and infrastructure.   

 

Key Points:

·      This person will be the lead HR professional and will have the opportunity to cover all aspects of human resources for the firm

·      Individual will be given a considerable amount of autonomy to survey the landscape of the organization and drive HR initiatives

·      There is growth potential for this new hire as the individual accomplishes milestones and establishes and refines procedures

Responsibilities:

·      Provide employee relations services to employees and management on the following but not limited to: promotions, market adjustments, disciplinary actions, terminations, performance management, and merit to ensure proper documentation and adherence to the process

·      Develop talent reviews, promotion discussions, performance management practices and training along with development initiatives; stay up-to-date with rules and regulations and advise the business of potential impact

·      Lead the process with administering annual performance reviews and collecting performance assessments; manage all benefits administration (invoices, open enrollment, retirement payments, FMLA and COBRA processes)

·      Conduct analyses for organizational issues, develop potential solutions, while recommending changes to management as appropriate; lead all talent acquisition processes from hiring to onboarding, payroll and vendor management

Qualifications:

·      A minimum of 7 years of experience working in a Human Resources leadership role within a financial services and/or asset management is a plus

·      Bachelors degree in Business Administration, HR, or similar advanced degree is preferred; comfortable working in a fast-paced, complex and multicultural professional environment while handling large projects and multiple deadlines

·      Exceptional management skills, interpersonal communication skills and problem-solving skills; considerable knowledge of HR policies, procedures, best practices, and employment law in all regions and states
