Associate/Investment Advisor Operations & Administration (New York, NY): Our client, a leading healthcare investment manager, with both hedge funds and private equity funds, has a newly created role on their team of three.  This opportunity is ideal for an entrepreneurial minded individual with a strong work ethic as the role can take on a number of tasks and responsibilities as s/he demonstrates their aptitude.  The hiring manager is open-minded to hiring a professional with interests in accounting, compliance, investor relations (or all three!) as this job can ultimately focus in any of these areas.  As a part of a small team, a “no task too small” attitude, a team player mentality, and an appreciation for the office size is imperative.

Initial Responsibilities: 

·         Supporting the Portfolio Manager/Founder and CFO in all day to day needs such as providing phone coverage, coordinating meetings, preparing travel arrangements, and calendar management

·         Providing office management services for the firm such as liaising with building staff regarding any management issues, contacting vendors with any service provider problems, and maintaining the general appearance of the office

·         Handling ad hoc projects from the CFO

·         Organizing fund documents and files

 

Additional Responsibilities with time may include some or all of the following (depending on interests): 

·         Assisting the CFO with regulatory filings, annual audit and tax filings

·         Serving as a point of contact with third party marketing firms 

·         Liaising with the firm’s outside accountants and fund administrator

·         Updating the firm’s marketing collateral 

·         Assisting with the firm’s subscription and redemption requests with investors 

·         Staying up to date on compliance filings by managing the compliance calendar and assisting with all communications with outside compliance consulting firm. 

 

Qualifications: 

·         Ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of prior experience in any of the following capacities: paralegal, administrative assistant, investor relations, client services, compliance, accounting, or audit within the investment management space

·         Individual must have the right attitude to work in a small environment and an appreciation for the firm’s purpose

·         Impeccable attention to detail is required

·         A sense of pride in high quality work will be extremely helpful

·         Bloomberg, Redi, or other investment management software experience a plus but not necessary
