Chief Compliance Officer (New York, NY):   Our client, an established top tier commercial real estate debt asset manager, is seeking a CCO to join their growing team in a newly created senior position  created as part of their registration as a Registered Investment Advisor.  The CCO will be responsible for creating, updating, adopting and implementing written policies and procedures designed to comply with requirements  of the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 and all other relevant regulations.  The new hire will be responsible for: managing the firm’s compliance program; conducting compliance training; drafting and executing compliance policies and procedures; reviewing marketing materials; assisting with KYC checks; and advising on any compliance related questions from the investment teams, as well as other ad hoc legal issues.  The CCO will spearhead firm compliance testing and monitoring; and responding to regulatory inquiries.  Additionally, the CCO will be involved with handling corporate legal matters including drafting and negotiating contracts, vendor agreements, and licensures; drafting counter-party agreements and investor documents; and participating in investor meetings.  This person will also collaborate with the firm’s outside compliance consultant, and internal and external legal teams to continuously improve upon the firm’s compliance program.  The firm is keen on hiring an individual with excellent business acumen and a willingness to work in a collaborative & solution driven environment. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of total work experience preferably with both legal and compliance exposure either at a law firm or within an asset management firm.  A J.D. is strongly preferred.   Commercial real estate experience is desired.
